Kennet Care – Established

Following years of extensive education and hands-on experience in psychology, therapy, and child care, Raj (Director) transformed her lifelong passion into a powerful mission.

Determined to make a meaningful difference, she took a bold step and opened a residential children’s home—committed not only to providing exceptional care for children but also to creating a supportive, empowering environment for her team.

Raj set out to improve on every experience she had encountered in the sector, shaping a home where children could truly thrive and staff could genuinely grow. What began as one person’s vision has grown into something remarkable supporting more children than even she could have imagined.

Who knew it would become such a success? We did.

Kennet House – Open

Kennet House was a charming period property, built before 1900, that has retained its timeless character while being thoughtfully refurbished to meet the needs of the children in our care. The home was registered for 3 children with the vision of providing care for older young people. In August 2011, it became the seed of Kennet Care, welcoming our very first child.

From the very beginning, Kennet House was more than just a building, it was a symbol of pride, care, and commitment. Staffed by a dedicated team of qualified residential carers who fully embraced the Kennet Care ethos, the home quickly became a place where children could feel safe and supported.

Kennet House – Planned Closure

After more than three wonderful years, the home organically ended up with younger children.

It became clear to our team that the layout, steep stairways, and limited outdoor space at Kennet House weren’t quite the best fit for the children’s needs. With care and thought, the children and staff moved together to the beautifully refurbished Hazel Brook, where the warm and supportive environment continues.

Langham – Open, registered for 7 children

Originally built as a three-bedroom home on a large site, the home was thoughtfully transformed into a spacious property, making use of existing land and further thanks to the addition of a newly constructed three-bedroom house on the adjoining land. Now registered to accommodate up to seven children, the site comprises two modern, comfortable homes—each purposefully designed to offer a safe, nurturing environment where children genuinely feel cared for.

Langham’s Gardens feature well-maintained outdoor spaces, ideal for children to play, explore, or simply enjoy a quiet moment of mindfulness and reflection.
